During the breeding season, males form harems of two to five hens, each laying four to eight white eggs in a desolate soil. The eggs are hatched after 28 days until the eggs hatch. The chicks have all their feathers when they hatch and are able to fly about a week after hatching. Most blue and green pea flowers reach sexual maturity at the age of three. However, some male blue flowers are known to reproduce when they are two years old.
